“Becoming an electrician is one of the best decisions I ever made! It’s a rewarding job that gives real tangible results at the end of every day. I’m passionate about clean energy and hope to specialise in renewables in the future; so that I can help people upgrade their home to include more modern, efficient technologies that save money and help the environment.

t’s great to be part of a female team, but I like to think that most of our customers hire us for our competence at the work, not just because of our gender. I’d encourage any women thinking about working in trade to give it a go. I also support organisations like Solar Sisters and Barefoot College , who run programmes to get women involved in energy access in the developing world. Before joining Kelly Electrics I worked for a charity that installed solar power in East Africa, where most rural homes don’t have electricity. Gaining access to electricity can have a real impact in these places and campaigning for equality of energy access around the world remains important to me.”
